Meet the author

Author Angie Langley has lived in the south west of England all her life. Nowadays home is a 17th century thatched cottage on the banks of the River Avon near Salisbury, a tiny piece of heaven and a true writer's paradise.

Angie's books are inspired by the highs and lows of a distant past that has given her the strength to tackle each day with a smile. Lighthearted and poignant she tells her story with honesty and bags of humour focusing on everyday situations many women will relate to.

When she isn't writing, she is personally fulfilling orders for her readers, walking her dog, and enjoying the countryside.

Jennifer Brown & Me

An old school pal of mine recently joked on social media that our old English teacher would be astounded to learn I’d become an author. Honestly? I think she would have fallen off her chair! Back then, I was the girl dreading the break-time bell, secretly praying for rain so I could hide inside rather than face the playground.

They said my "silly daydreaming" would be my downfall. My school reports were predictable: "Angela won't achieve anything." I spent my childhood hiding in playground corners. For years, my only defence was escaping into my own head.

But life has a funny way of coming full circle.

After a difficult breakup left me at an all-time low, I finally stepped out of my comfort zone, changed my life and stopped hiding. Writing the Jennifer Brown books isn’t just about telling a story; it’s about finding the confidence I never possessed.

Self-confidence isn't something you're born with. It takes courage to find one's voice. Today, the very daydreams that once defined my 'failures' are now the source of my greatest triumphs.

Supporting Salisbury Hospice

Just before the 2020 lockdown, my husband passed away from pancreatic cancer. It was a heartbreaking time. Yet, amidst those dark days, the Salisbury Hospice At Home nurses were a beacon of light, providing compassionate care that allowed Brian to spend his final weeks with dignity at home.

During the months that followed, desperate for a distraction, I threw myself into finishing the final book of my series. It was an uphill battle fuelled by late nights at my laptop and many tears, but I knew Brian would be my biggest cheerleader. I wanted to give something back to the hospice so I pledged to donate £1 for every book I sold in the future.

Supporting our local hospice is not just about funding a building; By contributing, we help preserve the dignity of those in their final days. Many hospices rely on community fundraising for the majority of their income. Our support ensures that palliative care remains available to anyone who needs it, regardless of their background or income.
